Digital Camera on Vacation

Week of Dec. 29th

I had the opportunity to use the digital camera when I was on vacation in the Galapagos Islands. It was easy to do. The trip was absolutely amazing. We saw Blue Footed Boobys, pelicans, iguanas, seals, sea tortoises as well as the giant Galapagos tortoises. I enjoyed taking the pictures of many of the animals but for the most part I let my husband take the pictures. I actually took more pictures than ever before. It seems like the digital camera is technology that is really useful to me on a personal as well as on a professional level. All too often you need to be outside the activity to take the picture. I realize that professionally I am never an observer. I will have to make the time to take pictures for my project.

PS. I still want a Live Scribe Pulse Pen and Santa did not bring it.

Gittin' On (PostDated)

I started a blog on December 28, 2008 as an experiment for STEP. It was kind of fun, and I created a profile, including a picture, and am editing it. I don't know if I will keep it after STEP is over, or who would actually post comments to it. We'll see.

Blogging Ideas

I have been trying to think of ways in which blogging can be used in the classroom. One way in which I think it could be used is by keeping families informed as to what is going on in the classroom on a weekly or even daily basis. Parents could even be informed about upcoming tests or exams.

New To Blogging

I have never been comfortable with the idea of blogging. I have read friends’ blogs while travelling in other countries as a way to keep up with what is going on. However, on a daily basis, I have never kept up with other people’s blogs. I see it as a way for people to express their opinions about things, and I have honestly never been interested enough in the beliefs and opinions of strangers to try to read their blogs. I am not sure how I will respond to blogging myself on a regular basis, but I do suspect, or at least hope, that with blogging myself, I will gain a better understand of the current blogging culture.
